VTEC 2026

will take place in Aberdeen from 10 - 13 May 2026

Welcome to the VTEC-2026 website! 

Verocytotoxigenic or Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (VTEC / STEC) continues to be a priority pathogen in countries across the world.  The triannual VTEC conference series aims to bring the whole community together to share and discuss the latest findings in scientific research and application. 

The conference theme is on One Health which will run through all conference sessions.  Sub themes will include: 

  • Public Health  

  • Clinical Health 

  • Pathogen biology and host interactions 

  • Microbial ecology  

  • Surveillance 

  • Pathogen management 

There will also be a range of optional pre-conference workshops and social activities arranged around the conference.

STEC / VTEC continues to be priority pathogen with multiple outbreaks in 2025 across different countries. The aim of the VTEC-2026 conference is to share cutting-edge scientific knowledge, addressing the questions about why the outbreaks occur and how best to manage this pathogen. This webinar will be hosted live to answer any questions you may have about the conference.
