The VTEC congress is the only international conference for science communication scientific researchers and practitioners in the Shiga toxin (verocytotoxin)-producing E.coli (STEC / VTEC) community. The aim is to provide a global platform to exchange ideas and knowledge all aspects of STEC biology and epidemiology, covering animal, human, environmental, and public health, and microbial pathogenesis, and microbial genomics.
The triennial series of VTEC meetings has been held in different countries since 1998 and tends to alternate between different continents. The 2026 meeting will be the first held in the UK since 2003 (Edinburgh). It is an internal meeting, open to a global audience and anticipated to attract a goof proportion of European members.
